We at Tayyibah Girls School believe that a school uniform is required as an integral part of school discipline:

  • It looks smart
  • Wears well
  • Contributes a sense of belonging
  • Gives a common purpose
  • Promotes a feeling of pride

We require that all students wear the uniform at all times and we encourage them to maintain a good standard of clean and tidy dress in school. Parents are expected to fully co-operate in this regard by ensuring their daughter attends school in full uniform.

PRIMARY UNIFORM (YEAR 1 to YEAR 5)

Primary uniform can be bought from any local Shop/Supermarket. However items must adhere to the colours and style.

Tayyibah Girls School Uniform Guidelines

Please read the uniform requirements carefully before purchasing any items.

For the school-issued abaya/jilbab, the Price & Buckland uniform is made from a standard-weight material. It is suitable for most of the year but may feel warm during the summer months. If you would prefer a lighter option for warmer weather, you may purchase a suitable abaya from another supplier, provided it meets all of the school’s uniform requirements listed below.

Jilbab/Abaya and PE Top

  1. Visit the Price & Buckland uniform shop.
  2. Select the jilbab or PE top.
  3. Choose the correct size.

Please note: the jilbab is available in 51-inch or 60-inch lengths only. The size shown on the website refers to the chest size, not the length.

Please refer to the size guide on the website for more information and to help you choose the correct size. The jilbab may therefore need to be hemmed to the correct length.

Abaya Uniform

Students may wear either the school-issued abaya, available from the Price & Buckland uniform shop above, or purchase their own abaya.

If purchasing your own abaya, Zadina also stocks suitable simple abayas:

Any personally purchased abaya must meet all of the following requirements:

  • Plain navy only — not blue or any other shade of blue
  • No designs, embroidery, embellishments, patterns or logos
  • Must not be front-opening
  • Must not have a belt
  • The official school patch must be purchased from the school and attached to the abaya

What to Wear Under the Abaya

Students must wear:

  • White long-sleeved polo shirt
  • Black formal school trousers

What to Wear Over the Abaya

Students may wear:

  • Burgundy school cardigan or burgundy V-neck sweater only — no other colour is permitted

School Headscarf

The school headscarf must be:

  • Plain navy
  • Free from tassels, sequins, decorative edging and other embellishments
  • Worn with a black undercap
  • Fastened securely with a scarf pin at all times
  • Long enough to fall below the bosom to provide appropriate front coverage

Students must also wear plain black formal school shoes with black or white socks only. Trainers are not permitted, except on PE days, when appropriate sports footwear should be worn.

PE Kit

For PE, students should wear:

  • Plain white T-shirt — no logos, writing, prints or graphics
  • Plain black jogging bottoms — no logos, writing, prints or graphics
